Admission and Application Requirements
What are the admissions requirements?
Our admissions committee takes a holistic approach and we evaluate several aspects of a prospective student including:
- Two Letters of Recommendation
- Official Transcripts
- Statement of Purpose
- Completion of undergraduate accountancy leveling courses from an AACSB-accredited university (with a bachelor’s in accounting from your university you should have the correct courses)
What are the GPA requirements to get into the program?
A GPA of 2.75 or better
I graduated from a non-AACSB accredited institution. Can I still apply to the MAcc?
I have a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than accounting. Can I still apply to the MAcc?
Prior to applying to the MAcc program, you must meet the minimum educational requirements. The courses must be taken at an AACSB accredited institution and you must have a C or above in the accounting courses. The list of courses includes:

Program Details
What is the total price of tuition for the Master of Accountancy program?
Approximately $17,954.50 ($1795.45 per course). Includes in-state tuition, fees, and parking.
I am trying to sit for the CPA. Does the MAcc program fulfill the course requirements?
Yes, the Master of Accountancy is a 30 credit hour degree designed to provide the courses necessary to obtain the 150 hours necessary to sit for the CPA in Texas. Also, the degree can be completed in 12 months.
How do I complete the MAcc in 12 months?
Semester 1 - Fall – 4 courses (three 5wk courses and one 16wk course) Learn more.

Semester 3 – Summer – 2 courses (two 5wk courses) Learn more.
I work full-time will I be able to attend classes?
The Master of Accountancy is designed for working professionals. Courses are offered Tuesday 5:30 pm-9:30 pm and Saturday 12:30 pm-4:30 pm or Wednesday and Saturday at the same times. Courses are also offered in 5-week modules and the degree of 30 credit hours can be completed within 12 months.
What is the duration of the program?
The degree of 30 credit hours. Typically, students complete the program within 12 to 18 months, based on a full-time course load per semester.
I am interested in the Certificate of Accountancy, can you tell me more.
The Certificate of Accountancy, which consists of 15 credit hours, or 5 courses.

Are there scholarships and graduate assistantships available to help me pay for tuition?
Scholarships and graduate assistantships are available to enrolled students. When opportunities arise, the college, the department, or the advisor will inform enrolled students.
