Health Science Professors Designated President's Community Engaged Scholars
Three professors in the College of Health Sciences – Dr. Sandor Dorgo, Associate Professor, Kinesiology (first photo, far left); Dr. Thenral Mangadu, Assistant Professor, Public Health (first photo, second from the right); and Dr. Mark Lusk, Professor, Social Work and Provost’s Faculty Fellow for Community Engagement (second photo, second from the right) were honored by President Natalicio for their community engaged scholarship at the annual President’s Community Engaged Scholarship ceremony held in mid-May.
The award honors faculty members whose work addresses important public problems and contributes to the public good, and who have disseminated the results of that work in scholarly venues. Community engaged scholarship is interdisciplinary and based on reciprocal, mutually beneficial and equitable partnerships. The award is accompanied by an engraved plaque and a $1,000 prize that can be used to support the engaged work of the faculty member.
