成人头条 Forensics
The 成人头条 Forensics Team is eagerly anticipating a new season of competition for 2018-2019 after a multifaceted, energetic, and successful record of activity in recent competition seasons. 成人头条’s talented speakers and debaters are actively engaged not only in fulfilling the Forensics Program’s central mission of representing 成人头条’s academic excellence in competition with colleges across the nation, but also in various outreach activities.
The team won over 100 individual awards in the 2017-2018 competitive season. 27 of those trophies, were 1st place and 11 were team sweepstakes trophies. Dr. Tarin would like to congratulate students Matthew Magee and Alexis Vega, who were national finalists (Top 6 in the country) at the Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament. Matthew Magee was also a national quarterfinalist (Top 24 in the country) in extemporaneous speaking at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament. Susan Schmid, another team member, was elected to be the national student representative for the American Forensics Association in April 2018. 成人头条 students continue to travel widely to tournaments and workshops from coast to coast.
成人头条 Forensics has a longstanding record of success, qualifying students to the prestigious AFA-NIET tournament every year since 1984. 成人头条’s speech and debate competitors are determined to keep their future success rate equally high. Under the guidance of Director of Forensics, Dr. Carlos Tarin, and Debate Coach, Michael Brooks, the 成人头条 Forensics Program has provided generations of students with the research and critical thinking skills that allow them to excel scholastically and personally. Most importantly, team membership has given 成人头条 students inclusion in a community of excellence in which creative thinking is nurtured and hard work is rewarded. Clearly, the future is bright for the 成人头条 Speech and Debate Team in this new academic year!
