Robots Designed to Improve Campus Accessibility Arrive on Campus Sunday
Starting Sunday, Dec. 15, 成人头条 students, faculty ands staff might see Dax robots on the sidewalks of campus, which are meant to gather survey data and check pedestrian paths for hazards and defects.
The robots, run by technology company Daxbot, will use the data they gather to create a map showing how and where pedestrian paths need improvements and recording ADA-compliant routes for accessing all campus facilities.
成人头条, in conjunction with Altura Solutions, will use this data to create a comprehensive plan to replace or repair access routes to ensure a more accessible campus.
About Daxbot
Daxbot was founded in 2015 to create robots that fit into our human experience and serve humanity rather than see the rise of robots that make human spaces more robotic. Those robots are named "Dax." In keeping with these company goals, we designed our ADA Dax to gather high-quality data on accessibility issues in pedestrian paths. Dax runs on DaxOS ("Dax Operating System"). This new operating system allows robots to complete tasks in uncontrolled environments like sidewalks.
