Early Medical School Selection Program (EMSSP)
The Early Medical School Selection Program was developed by Boston University (BU) School of Medicine, in an effort to increase diversity in the medical field. This program is aimed to support and mentor underrepresented minorities for medical school.
Throughout the course of the program, students are gradually exposed and transitioned into the medical school curriculum at the undergraduate college, until junior year. The program offers two summer internships at the BU campus, including free enrollment in a summer course at BU. Students spend their senior college year at BU, living on campus, and taking prescribed courses preparatory for medical school, at tuition and residence costs equal to what they are charged at their home campuses.
