A COHORT-BASED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE
From now to August 3rd, Technology Support, in collaboration with the 成人头条 成人头条 School, is looking for teaching graduate students and faculty to participate in the upcoming Blackboard Institute, being held August 6th to August 8th. In this 3-day experience, participants learn how to maximize their use of Blackboard tools and functions for teaching, learning, and research. They will create custom course designs and student engagement pieces created specifically for their courses. The institute is limited to 25 participants with graduate students having priority.

IMPORT EXAM FILES INTO BLACKBOARD
WITH RESPONDUS 4.0
Faculty can now import exams, created in Microsoft Word and other text file formats, into Blackboard with a new tool called Respondus 4.0. This tool will save faculty time since they will no longer have to re-type exam questions into Blackboard. Respondus 4.0 can be installed on your work and personally owned computers, at no cost. Please contact the Technology Support Help Desk for assistance with the installation.

SUBMIT GRADES DIRECTLY FROM BLACKBOARD
GOLDMINE/BANNER INTEGRATION WITH GRADE CENTER
No longer in service (May 2022 Update) Submitting your students’ mid-term and final grades is now easier with Blackboard Grade Center. A direct connection between Blackboard and Banner has been established, which provides faculty with the ability to publish grades from Blackboard directly to Goldmine. With the ILP Integration Tool, faculty using Blackboard’s Grade Center will no longer have to manually enter mid-term or final grades again into Goldmine.

MAKING FILES ACCESSIBLE FOR EVERYONE
WITH ADOBE ACROBAT PRO
According to 成人头条's Blackboard data, many of the images and documents faculty are uploading to Blackboard are not ADA compliant, especially scanned documents saved in PDF format, but there are easy solutions to fix them. One of the best solutions is using Adobe Acrobat Pro, which can save documents into a compatible format for screen readers. Acrobat Pro is available to all faculty and staff for 成人头条 owned computers. CREATING PATHWAYS FOR FUTURE 成人头条 STUDENTS
STEAMx was a two-day long event which took place on April 23rd & 24th, where 2,000 high school students participated in a variety of activities and competitions related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). Learning Environments Director, Mike Pitcher, taught the next generation of 成人头条 students the impact that new technologies will have on their long-term careers, degrees and job opportunities. They partnered with Tech-E teams and the White Sands Army Research Labs to explore areas of cybersecurity, computer programming, and technology entrepreneurship; and held another partnership with STEMGROW at 成人头条/EPCC to show the significance that 成人头条 is having with bridge programs. Participants from the STEAMx event are expected to arrive at the university as soon as Fall of 2018. These future 成人头条 students are setting a technology empowered vision that will bring progress and growth into the communities they live in.
