A CBBA student is a Candidate for a Bachelor of Business Administration. The CBBA classification is used to identify business students who intend to earn a BBA degree but need to successfully complete the MATH 1320 (or higher) and RWS 1301 (or higher) requirement and are still taking the required freshman and sophomore (lower-division) courses. Students who are CBBA are advised at the Academic Advising Center.

The lower-division non-business and business courses provide a core of knowledge in those academic areas necessary for an appropriate combination of descriptive and analytical approaches to the study of business administration. The foundation work includes courses in mathematics, communications, social sciences, humanities, natural science, accounting, and economics.
Is there someone I should talk to about course planning?
The Woody L. Hunt College of Business undergraduate advisors offer advising to business students in BUSN 104. This includes advising about degree plans, major requirements, and prerequisites. Undergraduate advisors can also provide you with information about professional development opportunities offered by our College.
Where and how can I get academic advising?
Business students who have completed their MATH 1320 (or higher) and RWS 1301 (or higher) get advised at the Woody L. Hunt College of Business. Advising in the College begins the third week of classes. Students must complete an advising module (emailed directly to students by their Academic Advisor) before they can set up an advising appointment.

What can I do with a specific degree?
The Woody L. Hunt College of Business undergraduate advisors can provide information about specific degrees and advice on your degree plan. Our Business Degree Plans will give you an overview of the majors offered by the College.
What if I decide to change my major to business?
If you are considering changing majors, arrange a time to meet and talk to your advisor at your current College to request a major change. Once the representative from your current College approves your release and notifies our office via email, then you can meet with an Academic Advisor at the Woody L. Hunt College of Business. Please be aware that the major changes can only be processed when the registration period for the following semester begins. In addition, all business students are required to complete a student orientation.

Student organizations are an excellent way for students to begin researching their career choices. Business student organizations focus on common student interests such as business majors, economic development, or entrepreneurial ideas and goals. Most organizations invite guest speakers to their meetings, provide travel opportunities, hold professional development workshops, fundraise, and participate in community service projects. Overall, students receive experience in their field of interest and therefore add valuable skills to their resumes.

Where can I get information on internships and jobs?
There are many opportunities for students to connect with employers on campus. To learn about career paths with various employers, students can attend career fairs and employer information sessions.

What Grade Point Average (GPA) do I need in order to earn my degree?
Business students must maintain a minimum 2.0 overall GPA in their course work. In addition, business students must maintain a minimum 2.0 overall GPA in their business courses. Lastly, accounting majors must maintain a minimum 2.0 accounting GPA.
