The National Science Foundation has awarded a continuing five-year grant of approximately $5 million to the (Cyberinfrastructure for Sharing Resources to Advance Research and Education) Center of Excellence at 成人头条.
"The Cyber-ShARE Center researchers are honored to have received an additional five years of funding from the NSF," said Ann Gates, Ph.D., the center director and 成人头条's associate vice president of research.
The Cyber-ShARE Center was established in 2007 to utilize and advance cyberinfrastructure (CI), or information technology systems that provide powerful and advanced capabilities. The center brings together experts in computer science, computational mathematics, education, earth science, and environmental science. The team addresses the challenge of providing information to scientists and CI users that allows them to make informed decisions about the and have confidence in using results from CI-based applications.
The center's goal is to develop strong collaborative and interdisciplinary research, foster innovation, and open doors for a new generation of scientists and engineers to obtain advanced degrees.
The funds will help the center in Phase II of its plans, which includes three main goals: conduct synergistic, interdisciplinary science, technology, engineering and mathematics research that uses and advances CI-enabled techniques and tools to support collaboration and sharing; train and educate CI-knowledgeable professionals; and extend the network of collaborations locally, nationally and internationally.
"The Phase II funding will propel Cyber-ShARE to become a sustained national research center that serves as a resource for collaborative, interdisciplinary research," Gates said.
The center has funded more than 60 Cyber-ShARE Research Scholars in the last five years and plans to continue to support student research.
