RESEARCH PROGRAMS
Because of the University’s location on the U.S.-Mexico border, the Department of Teacher Education’s faculty has a unique perspective to do research that focuses on teaching and learning in diverse, multilingual communities. Our location provides a vibrant research context to explore issues that are vital to the larger educational community such as language learning, bilingualism and multilingualism, STEM education and English Learners, immigrant education, and social/cultural contexts of curriculum and schooling.
