Chapter 9: Student Participation in Selection and Monitoring of Food Service Contractors
In accordance with Section 51.945, Texas Education Code, the University shall obtain meaningful input from students regarding the desired qualifications for, and the initial award or renewal of, a contract for any vendor of food services engaged principally to serve students, or to provide campus-wide vending for food or beverage products.
9.1 Student Participation in Selections of Vendors
Prior to the bidding or renewal of any contract for the provision of food services, including vending operations, the Vice President for Business Affairs shall request that the Office of the Dean of Students appoint one student representative to advise in the development of selection or renewal criteria and to participate in the actual decision to select or renew any food service or vending contractor.
9.2 Annual Input for Public Comment
At least once each academic year, input will be sought for the purpose of taking comments from student patrons regarding the performance of the food service or vending contractor.
