Plumas Negras
Written by Juliette Carrillo
Directed by Rebecca Frost Mayer
Synopsis: Set in East Salinas, California (also known as Alisal), this drama tells the story of three generations of women and their relationship to the land. In 1963, Concha pursues work in the lettuce fields to provide for the children she has left behind. Forty years later, we meet her daughter, Perla, and ten years following, her daughter, Aurora.
How do we continue generational cycles, and how do we break free from our mothers and grandmothers? How do we define women’s work? Who is putting food on our table? Plumas Negras examines these questions and tells a beautiful story about memory, growth, hope, and taking flight.
This bilingual production is presented in Spanish (with English subtitles) and English.
Recommended for high school and adult audiences.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Based on the book by Kate Dicamillo
Adapted for the stage by Dwayne Hartford
Directed by Adriana Domínguez
Synopsis: Once there lived an expensive china rabbit named Edward Tulane. He could not move or speak, but he could watch and listen and was quite pleased with himself. And then, one day, he was lost. As years pass by, Edward meets many different people on his miraculous journey to learn an invaluable lesson. Based on Kate DiCamillo’s (Because of Winn Dixie, The Magician’s Elephant, The Tale of Despereaux) novel, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is a rare and beautiful story about what it means to love, lose that love, and how to find the courage to love again.
成人头条’s first sensory-sensitive production, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, has been adjusted to accommodate sensitive ears and eyes. The audience lights will remain dimly lit for safety, haze effects will be minimized, and loud sound effects will be softened. If the show is overwhelming, audience members are welcome to take a moment in the lobby and return to the theatre when ready.
Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of sensory needs, and everyone can benefit from the changes made for this production. While the experience may differ from a traditional show, it will still provide an enjoyable theatrical experience for all.

The Monomyth: A Dance Journey
Artistic Director: Ashley Kroft
Synopsis: Call to adventure! Every hero’s story, in some way, shape, or form, shares an internal transformation experienced in all of time and place. Leaving your comfort zone to experience something new, whether it’s starting a job, traveling to a new place, or pursuing a new hobby. You may choose an aspect of a hero’s journey or complete the entire cycle (Separation, Initiation, Return). You, or someone you know, being the hero. Leaving your normal world and entering the unknown. Leaving psychological dependency and transitioning to self-responsibility. Leaving and returning changed. What excites you, and to make that the basis of your personal journey. Not knowing where you are going and finding yourself in an adventure that begins your journey. Which aspect of your journey evokes a resonance within you?
I will leave you with a quote from Joseph Campbell, “... the Monomyth can also be metaphorically applied to someone’s spiritual, psychological, or physical journey. Being able to identify elements of the hero’s journey in your own life can help you see things in a new light, providing solace and guidance through a transformative period.
