For Parents
FERPA and Access to Your Student’s Records
The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), initially called the Buckley Amendment, allows students at an institution of higher education to control outside access to their education records, including requests for information from their parents, guardians, or others as designated by the student. Without a student’s written consent, 成人头条 may not disclose information from a student’s education records to outside third parties. The student may provide a standing release allowing 成人头条 to disclose information to others. The form is available through the university’s Registration and Records Office. NOTE: The student must sign and submit the completed form to the 成人头条 Records and Registration Office. Valid identification is required.
Financial Aid To Do – Verification
Should your student receive notification from 成人头条's Office of Student Financial Aid requesting additional documentation to complete the application process, you (parent/guardian) should be prepared to assist your student by providing all documents requested. This process is known as "Verification".
About Verification:
Institutions of Higher Education receiving federal funds are required to verify information disclosed on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Office of Student Financial Aid is permitted by federal law to request additional documents in order to confirm the information provided by the student and advance the accuracy of aid available to the student. Examples of documents requested by the 成人头条 Office of Student Financial Aid include, but are not limited to, income tax returns, W-2 statements, 1099 forms, Child Support, and Household Resources. The university is not permitted to disburse federal student aid if verification requirements have not been satisfied.
