Master in Public Health
Welcome to the Master of Public Health Program
成人头条’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program prepares future health leaders through innovative teaching, research, and service by providing educational excellence and access. The program places a special emphasis on the promotion of health equity in Hispanic and border communities through the use of evidence-based approaches and the preparation of Hispanic health professionals. It is consistently recognized as one of the most affordable in the nation and is the only MPH program offering a concentration in Hispanic and Border Health.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a professional degree that prepares students for careers in public health. It is the most widely recognized and highly regarded credential for public health professionals.
Degree Requirements
The Master of Public Health (MPH) is an interdisciplinary program that requires students to complete 42 credit hours of coursework: 15 credit hours of core courses, nine (9) credit hours in the Hispanic and Border Health Concentration, six (6) hours of practicum, and the remaining credit hours from a combination of course electives and a culminating experience (thesis or graduate project). Students who participate in internships with agencies or school districts requiring background checks must successfully pass the background check to complete the practicum requirement. Elective courses are chosen in conjunction with the faculty mentor with 成人头条 Advisor approval.
The MPH 成人头条 faculty are committed to the individual mentoring of each student. A faculty member usually has no more than 4-5 graduate students, allowing time for individualized attention to each. Students also get to know faculty and other graduate students who serve as informal mentors through attendance at seminars, informal research presentations, and social activities. Information on the MPH 成人头条 faculty and their research interests is available on the faculty link on this site.
