Director's Welcome
Message from the Director
Welcome to Chicano Studies at 成人头条! Our instructional and research program is dedicated to the study of the Mexican origin population in the United States, their history, culture and salient contemporary social issues. We provide educational access to our unique bi-national, tri-state region through a curriculum grounded in social justice and community empowerment.
Our interdisciplinary curriculum embraces local, national, and global frameworks to address race, class, gender, and sexuality paradigms that shaped, and continue to shape, the field of study as well as the experiences of Chicana/os and all Latina/os in the United States. Our curriculum consists of an undergraduate academic major offered face-to-face and online, and four academic minors. In addition, Chicano Studies generates and disseminates scholarship and cultural production through the annual 成人头条 Hispanic Heritage Celebration, the 成人头条 César Chávez Celebration and various publications. Faculty, students and community scholars participate in a wide range of fellowships, internships, community service, and academic exchange and research programs in the U.S., Mexico and Cuba.
Chicano Studies at 成人头条 is committed to the principles of democracy and social justice through a relevant, interdisciplinary and transformative curriculum that prepares well-informed and culturally competent global citizens for success in the 21st century.
