Student Profiles
Here in Leadership and Community Engagement we understand that our commitment to our students goes beyond the classroom. We strive to offer the most transformational environment for education in all facets of life from academic to personal growth and development.
We operate in a manner that reflects the University of Texas at El Paso’s mission and vision of Access and Excellence. Within this scope we purposefully establish and pursue elements of an atmosphere in which students can become the best version of themselves and transcend applications beyond their studies.
With this in mind we would like to highlight students that reflect what the Leadership and Community Engagement Program is all about. They are outstanding academic performers who embody different elements of what it means to be a leader by uniquely applying their own perspectives in regards to their experiences before, during, and after the program.
Our program has graduated over 930 students as of fall 2018 with the expectation that we will graduate our thousandth student by the end of the year. We recently surveyed program alumni in regards to a variety of questions about the MLS program. The feedback we received has been overwhelmingly positive and we will use that to continue advancing and improving our program for past, present, and future students.
The Student Profiles is the next step in elevating this feedback in to more personal and evident experiences of students that have recently graduated from the Leadership and Community Engagement Program. We hope to continue and build upon this initiative each and every year placing the spotlight on the new graduating class of outstanding students and their stories about the program. It is through this meaningful project that we will invite potential leaders to feel welcomed and assured that this is the right program for them.
