Directions
Directions for retrieving a pass to access Fort Bliss and USASMA/NCOLCoE.
There are a few initial steps required to be allowed on to Fort Bliss to attend classes at USASMA/NCOLCoE. Below is the recommended process to receive a permit that will grant you access to pass through the Fort Bliss Pena Gate.
Step one: First, you must apply for a visitors pass at the Chaffee Gate Visitors Center. This requires a valid driver’s license. They will ask you to fill out some paper work and at times even to take a picture. Your reason for visiting can be listed as attending class at USASMA/NCOLCoE. Depending on the staff and line of others getting a pass this can take anywhere between 10-25 min. You will receive a paper (permit) upon completion of the process; this pass is good for one month.
Step two: Next, you will leave the visitors center and head to Pena Gate, here you will be able to continue on the road that will get you to the academy. To enter you will need to show your license/ID and the permit received from the Chaffee Visitors center. Pena gate does not have an address but as you drive down Sergeant Major BLVD, you will reach it soon after you exit the highway.
Step three: As you enter through Pena Gate, you will proceed straight on the same road until you reach the academy it will be on your left side. MLS classes will be are on the opposite side of the building from Sergeant Major BLVD. You may park in parking lot and there will be stirs leading up to two sets up double doors. This is the main entrance. (On the first day of classes there will be someone waiting to show you to your classroom.)
