Critical Situations
If your own or any student’s immediate safety is at risk, this is a crisis situation. Contact 911 or the 成人头条 Police at 747-5611 for immediate assistance. In emergency situations, it is important that students remain safe and receive the help they need.
Examples of psychological emergencies include:
- Suicide threats or attempts
- Threats or acts of physical violence
- Sexual assault or other trauma
- Severely disorganized, psychotic, or out-of-control behavior
- Alcohol or drug-induced disruptions
If you have doubts as to whether a situation truly is an emergency, please call (915) 747-5302 and consult with one of our counselors. We might decide the situation is serious enough to warrant immediate intervention, and we would guide you or assist you in responding to the emergency. Students in need of emergency crisis counseling during regular working hours are seen immediately. Students can come directly to Counseling and Psychological Services at 202 Union West. Concerned faculty, staff, or others may want to walk a student over to our office, if appropriate.
