One Year Stronger: Remembering 8/3

PROSPECTUS
One Year Stronger will display artwork created by those affected by the El Paso Shooting that occurred on August 3rd, 2019. The exhibition will run from August 3rd through October 9th, 2020. Opening reception to be held on Monday, August 3rd, 2020, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Dates are subject to change.
HOW TO ENTER
Entries can only be submitted A separate application must be filled out for each exhibit.
ELIGIBLE MEDIA
The Student Engagement & Leadership Center is accepting all submissions, space permitted. Submissions are open internationally. Eligible media include, but are not limited to: drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, oil/chalk pastels, block/ink print, non-hanging sculpture or assemblage, digital art, collage, metal work, hanging fiber/textile art, and wood work, as well as written, spoken and recorded material. If a genre, medium or material you specialize in is not listed, please email selc@utep.edu to provide specifics about your work.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES + APPLICATION FEE
Number of submissions per artist is unlimited; however, attempts will be made to include as many different artists as possible. There is no application fee. Deadline to submit work is June 21st, 2020.
SIZE LIMITATIONS
All work must be ready for installation/ready to hang. All canvas and/or framed works MUST be wired to hang, with D-rings; no saw tooth hangers. Hanging submissions are restricted to a weight limit of no more than 25 pounds. No limit on height or width dimensions. The Union Gallery staff reserves the right to exclude any entry that presents complex/overly complicated installation or assembly problems.
ARTIST NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Accepted artists will be notified no later than July 1st, 2020 via their provided email. For physical art pieces, artists will be given a timeframe in which they may deliver their art pieces, upon acceptance. Artists must hand deliver their art; the Student Engagement & Leadership Center will not accept mailed artwork.
