The Ralph Martinez Travel Grant in Renewable Energy
Background
This travel grant is supported by an endowment named in honor of the late Dr. Ralph Martinez, 成人头条 graduate (1966 and 1968) and El Paso Electric Distinguished Research Professor of Energy Systems in the College of Engineering at 成人头条 in 2012-2013. It will support any undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student to attend a professional conference in the area of renewable energy (i.e., solar, wind, geothermal, bioenergy). Recipients can come from any department in the College of Engineering and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The travel grant may be used to attend a professional conference anywhere in the continental United States. Recipients will be selected based on merit and their professional goals statement. The professional goals and interests of the recipient will reflect Dr. Martinez’ lifelong dedication to improving energy use in society and reducing its environmental impacts. CERM will manage the travel grant funds, conduct an annual open solicitation for applicants, and manage a process for selecting the recipients.
